MR O SHOW #17 SUN JAN 7, 2007

TONIGHT…

I started on the questions about Virtual Worlds.  We asked for input on your top 5 questions for virtual worlds right now.

These questions will be brought to the http://www.virtualworldsig.com and given to the panel as a background.  This will be an ongoing theme for the next couple of weeks, and I expect to refine and add to the list. Here’s what we got so far.

Dedric Mauriac:
- What income opportunities are becoming available through virtual worlds?
- Have virtual worlds had any affect on freedom of speech in countries where that right does not exist?
- What abilities will emerge to integrate and cross between virtual worlds in the future, or merge of them in some way?
- Will virtual world online destinations be as ubiquitous as web pages as online destinations?
- How do minimum wage laws apply to contracting work through virutal worlds, and in what country are those laws recognized?
- Will it be standard that your operating system tie into a virtual world in the future?

HatHead Rickenbacker:
- How can we define virtual worlds?
- Taxation in virtual worlds.
- Will everyone have an avatar like they have an email address today?

Velvet Tornado:
- Are virtual worlds a possible platform for web browsing and/or as an operating system like windows — but in 3D?

Wurlitzer Seisenbacher:
- How will the growth of virtual worlds deal with “lag” and streaming/datablase issues that virtual worlds like Second Life encounter?

Overall, this is getting really interesting.  I think it’s significant stuff otherwise I wouldn’t be doing it.  We will add to this list, leading up to the SIG date of Jan. 22.  Seee you next time!
