Metaverse Manifesto moment - Gartner firm statement mirrors the manifesto
Just read this on VirtualWorldsNews.com where the Gartner firm mirrors exactly what I stated in the Metaverse Manifesto published earlier this year.
The link:
http://www.virtualworldsnews.com/2007/11/gartner-says-ge.html
The quote:
“the way we represent ourselves through virtual personas–from 3D avatars to Facebook profiles to Amazon wish lists–will become more important for business than who we are as actual people.”
The Metaverse Manifesto :
“The customizable Avatar itself is a more accurate representation of the being than the human form.”
The human form is limited to existing within a certain set of cultures - within certain clothes and within certain times and locations.
All these limitations prohibit the mind from expanding, and have limited creativity.
We state that the Avatar is more “real” than the physical person.”
Well if they DID read the Metaverse Manifesto I’d like to think that someone might credit an influence at least. And hey, if they didn’t, then at least you can see the Manifesto unfolding!
